Objectives of the WQMS Program
  • Monitoring and Surveillance of all drinking water sources in the state by the rural community.
  • Decentralization of water quality monitoring and surveillance of all rural drinking water sources in the state.
  • Generation of awareness among the rural masses about water quality problem and water borne diseases.

WQMS Activities
  • The Central Laboratory of GJTI is recognized as a SRI (State Referral Institute).
  • Setting up District level Water Quality Testing labs.
  • Identification and assessment of present Water quality testing facilities and needs including financial requirements.
  • Strengthening of labs at district level and Taluka level.
  • Arrangement of hardware and other requirements for labs.
  • Establishing linkages between Water quality monitoring and Surveillance activities.
  • Program for training and development of human resources.
